(To do and Product Plan)
Week 8
I've decided to make a plan on the things I need to do form this stage. I'm very behind on the things I should've included in my journal as I went along and they are the skills. I'm going to work on them throughout this week.

-Collect Surrey answers in 5th, 6th, 8th and 10th grade. DONE
-Make Interview and interview questions (Decide who to interview) DONE
-Research of different schools around the World which have the learning styles very present.DONE
-Choose the questions for the multiple intelligences quiz (which is going to go n the booklet). DONE
-Pick the quotes for the posters with study tips i’m going to place around bach. DONE
-Research ways to make the booklet attractive for Readers (different techniques, then pick the best one). (NOT GOING TO BE DONE)
-Update process Journal (work on the skills I’ve shown in each part of the cycle).
-Analyze Surrey results; make any modifications in the planning of my final product. (Reflection stage) DONE
April
-Make a conclusion based on the survey results. DONE
-Start working in the first draft of the booklet. (NOT GOING TO BE DONE)
-Paste the posters around bach DONE
-Keep on advancing in the process journal DONE
-Plan the proposal I’m going to make to the head of sections (a word document with interesting survey results, the explanation of what are learning styles and some ideas of how could the class to teach students about it, be.) DONE

3rd meeting with supervisor
In this meeting with Mrs. Felicity I showed her my plans for the posters i'm going to paste around bach. I only had the text that was going to be written on them but she gave me some ideas of how I could make them more visually attractive. We also talked about ways I could make my investigation through interviews, and ww agreed that I could make interviews to students in the honor role and students who don't have very good grades to compare how they study and see if there's a difference. I am also going to talk with Luz Helena to see if they could include one class about learning styles in her and mario's class (LP and PSHE).

Possible Slogans:
-DON’T STUDY HARD, STUDY SMART!
-STUDY SMARTER NOT HARDER :)
-WISE STUDY = BETTER STUDY
-THE WAY YOU STUDY, MATTERS
-IMPROVE YOUR STUDYING, IMPROVE YOUR RESULTS
Tips
1. Study at your peak.
Peak= The time of the day when you are feeling more active.
Morning persons study better in the morning. Night persons study better at night.
2. Keep a schedule of your study periods.
Studying in a hurry is the same thing as not studying at all.
(drawing of a guy in a hurry as a mess- his papers falling down, his clothes looking messy, etc)
3. The place where you study matters.
(Drawing that includes: No distractions, quiet, good light, comfortable, clean, organized, enough space)
4. Your brain gets tired too
(Concentration graph)
Study in periods of 40 minutes and have a 15-minute break between them
5. Sleeping will help you absorb what you’ve learnt
(drawing of someone sleeping and a bubble with a book above their head, words entering)
6. Studying the day before is a bad idea
The last day should be spent reviewing, not memorizing everything.
7. No music is allowed
Unless is soft and lyric-free music.
Music with hard beats and lyrics can mix with the information you are trying to put in your brain.
(Drawing of someone trying to study but he/she is covering his ears so no more lyrics enter her brain)
8. Use memory tricks
Learn things by using Rhymes, riddles and stories..
(ej: Never Eat Slimy Worms)
Posters about learning styles
1. Do you remember faces rather than names?
Then you are a visual learner. You learn best with the use of charts, graphs, flashcards and concept maps.
2. Do you follow oral directions better than written ones?
Then you are an auditory learner. You learn best through the use of discussion, oral reading, hearing anecdotes or CDs and studying in cooperative learning groups.
3. Are you constantly tapping your pen or playing with your keys in your pocket? Then you are a kinetic learner. You learn best while moving: by playing games, acting or miming.
4. Do you only remember things if you write them down? Then you are a Read-Write learner learner. You learn best while reading and writing.

Week 9
Booklet plan
Here is the questioner that I will put in the booklet I'll hand in to Students so they can figure out which is their dominant learning style:
Visual Learners:
-I feel the best way to remember something is to picture it in my head.
-I frequently require explanations of diagrams, graphs, or maps.
-I remember faces rather than names.
-I easily understand and follow directions on maps
-I need to watch a speaker's facial expressions and body language to fully understand what they mean
Auditory learners:
-I follow oral directions better than written ones.
-I often would rather listen to a lecture than read the material in a textbook.
-I frequently use musical jingles to learn things
-I like to study in a roup so I can listen to others.
-I remember things most when I hear/say them.
Read-write Learners:
-I love to read and do so daily.
-I tend to take notes during verbal discussions/lectures to review later.
-I remember things best if I write things down and read them back.
-I typically follow written instructions better than oral ones.
Kinestic Learners:
-My outstanding coordination and balance let me excel in high-speed activities.
-I am constantly fidgeting (e.g. tapping pen, playing with keys in my pocket).
-When im not sure of how to spell a word, I trace the letters in the air.
-I like playing sports more than reading books.
-I like to move around a lot
Logic Learners:
-I often develop equations to describe relationships and/or to explain my observations.
How to make a booklet:
I researched ways to make a booklet using a computer because all of the ones i've made before are by hand. This is a good link i found: http://www.ehow.com/how_2099592_create-booklet-microsoft-word.html

CHANGE ON MY PRODUCT
After my investigation and analyzing the survey results and doing the interviews, I've noticed that students aren't very interested in this theme, so the way I present it to them should be as something innovative, interesting and essential for them to make them wonder why aren't they using it! So I've come to the conclusion that giving a manual isn't the best idea, because what typically happens is they receive something and throw it away.. they don't bother looking at it, even if its colorful (printing so many manuals would be a waste of paper, ink, money and time). So maybe instead of a physical, paper manual, 'm going to make a webpage which is going to include everything the manual was going to include. Doing it this way is easier to make the topic interesting and more didactic and fun, so students can have access to it at any time.

Design Specifications
Here are the specifications that my final product should include:
Skills
The ATL skills I have shown at this stage of the process are:
Thinking skills:
Creativity and innovation
Self-Management Skills:
I showed all these descriptors by doing the list of the things I had to do. Once I did one I started writting "DONE" on the side, and I tried to follow the dates I had stablished.
Thinking skills:
Creativity and innovation
- Evaluate solutions to problems. (I have evaluated if the manual would make a real impact on the community, and decided that a webpage would be a better idea)
- Make decisions based on chosen criteria, standards and conditions. (Deciding a webpage and making the specifications of it)
- Make intuitive judgments. (Students won't really bother to read the manual and do what it says, while a webpage is something they can access whenever they want).
- Consider ethical, cultural and environmental implications of issues. (A webpage would be more eco-friendly)
- Pause to reflect at different stages in the learning process. (I had reflected on two things here: The first is the fact that I'm a bit behind on what I had to have up to this point. The second is to think if my product is really going to make the impact I want it to make).
Self-Management Skills:
I showed all these descriptors by doing the list of the things I had to do. Once I did one I started writting "DONE" on the side, and I tried to follow the dates I had stablished.
- Plan assignments, create study or homework planners and stick to them
- Set appropriate and manageable goals, and plan strategies to achieve them.
- Plan strategies to guide inquiry.
- Plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project (This last one refers mostly to the design of my specifications, because is what I will use as a guide to complete my action and my product).
- Give and receive appropriate feedback. (During my meeting with Ms. Felicity I showed her my plans and she told me ways to improve them)
- Use structural writing planners for different academic tasks. (I've planned the things I'm missing to do to finish my project, as well as how I'm going to do the webpage and the posters).
- Negotiate goals and limitations with peers and with teachers. (I discussed with Ms. Felicity why I thought making a webpage was easier than a booklet)
